Gary Hodges can be seen teaching and performing around New Hampshire in a variety of musical situations. When not at Strings & Things Music he plays in many groups, including the Artful Noise String Quartet, and directs the Philips Exeter Summer School Orchestra.
Bachelors and Masters Degrees from University of New Hampshire; His teachers have included Larry Veal, Sato Knudsen, Andres Diaz and David Wells.
Gary has taught strings at the Pine Hill Waldorf School in Wilton, NH and directs the Philips Exeter Summer School Orchestra. In addition, he maintains private teaching studios in Concord and Amherst.
He is a member of the Artful Noise String Quartet, the Kelsh Trio, the Brinkler Piano Trio, and served as principal cellist with the New Hampshire Philharmonic. In addition to the cello, Gary also plays the viola da gamba. Gary is involved with string music education, teaching violin, viola, cello and chamber music.
