Bio

Ben has an undergraduate degree in Music Education from UNH, where he studied guitar with David Newsam. Currently, when he is not teaching privately, he teaches elementary classroom music in the Hopkinton School District.

 

Academic Credentials

Ben has an undergraduate degree in Music Education from UNH where he studied guitar with David Newsam.  He has studied with many teachers including Andy Greene, Joe Gattuso, Phil Sargent, Dave Tonkin, Christopher Kane and David Seiler.

 

Teaching Experience

Ben teaches guitar, bass and beginning piano, clarinet and saxophone lessons at Strings & Things Music.  Currently when he is not teaching privately he teaches elementary classroom music in the Hopkinton School District.

 

Professional Experience

Ben has been teaching and playing music for as long as he can remember.  He has performed all over New England in a variety of bands and music ensembles.  Having knowledge of many instruments has also inspired him to explore a diverse array of musical styles.

 

Teaching Philosophy

As a private instructor and public school teacher Ben strongly believes in being flexible in his instruction and strives to create lessons that are fun and specific to each student’s goals and interests.
