Multi-instrumentalist Anne Levergood teaches seven instruments at Strings & Things Music and also teaches in the Merrimack Valley School District. She performs as a soloist, as part of various chamber ensembles, and in the Suncook Valley Chorale.
Anne received a degree in Music Education from the University of New Hampshire and studied oboe and reed making with Margaret Herlehy.
Anne has been teaching private and group instrument lessons, both in the private and public school setting, for the past seven years. She is now an elementary music teacher in the Merrimack Valley School District and loves sharing the joy of music. At Strings & Things Music Anne teaches beginning to intermediate piano, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, and trombone lessons as well as all levels of oboe.
After her very first orchestra rehearsal in seventh grade Anne knew music would always be a part of her life. On oboe she has performed in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts with various groups including UNH’s Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony, the Never’s Band, the Holyoke Civic Orchestra, the Augusta Symphony Orchestra, and the Mid-Maine Youth Orchestra. She also performs as a soloist, as part of various chamber ensembles, and sings in the Suncook Valley Chorale.
Anne enjoys introducing different styles and aspects of music to her students through her teaching of general music classes, chorus, and band. She encourages musicality and independence in her private lesson students and strives to help each student reach his/her musical goals.
