Bio

Joe Gattuso is one of the most revered guitarists in northern New England. For decades Joe has been an integral part of Strings & Things Music's guitar lesson program as well as being the lead guitarist for the Boston band, Night Shift.

Academic Credentials

Berklee College of Music - Music Ed. & Composition.  Private Studies w/ Charlie Banacos.  Banacos was one of the most highly regarded jazz educators on the planet, one of the best ever. Entered Berklee in 1973 at age 18. He was a member of the first ever jazz-rock ensemble, an incredible experience!

 

Teaching Experience

40 years.  Joe began teaching privately around the time he entered college.  He’s had many fantastic students over the years, and many have gone on to become top-notch players.

 

Professional Experience

Joe has been playing live since 1972, gigging regularly since high school. Over the years he has been privileged to share the bandstand with some of the finest musicians including Ray Greene, Baron Browne, Jeff Bhasker, Dan Kenny, Jerry Bergonzi, George Garzone.  He has been the guitarist for Boston’s best wedding and corporate band, Nightshift, for almost two decades.
