Bio

Mandolin, ukulele, banjo and guitar instructor Carleton Page works full-time at Strings & Things Music, and has been with us for 15 years. When he's not teaching, Carleton is busy playing, recording and composing for many local groups.

 

Academic Credentials

Carleton has studied with our own Joe Gattuso & Phil Sargent as well as other fine teachers. He has also attended many workshops including those of Bill Keith and Mike Compton.



Teaching Experience

Currently Carleton is teaching full time at Strings & Things Music. He has been with us for 15 years. He also has been teaching in the lakes region for 2 years now and is the current guitar instructor for Laconia High School adult education.



Professional Experience

Carleton has played with many area bands including the former area favorite Lamont Smooth. While playing with “Smooth” he co-wrote 2 songs and played on their CD “Body”. He was also the original lead guitarist for The Ron Noyes Band and can be heard ond the popular CD “Something Else”. Some of the other local bands he’s played with are Brooks Young Band, Geddes Road and GCK. These groups have opened for acts such as Chris Duarte, Train, Gordon Stone and Percy Hill. Over the past couple of years he’s been playing duo and trio performances with musicians such as Ellen Carlson, Darrell Carlson, Dave Shaw, Tim “Clawhammer” Rowell, Woody Pringle, Seth Alsten and many others.



Teaching Philosophy

Carleton has taught students from 5 years old to 80 years young! He believes that it is critical to match the appropriate learning style and method to build a program for each student. he also believes that as an instructor he must artfully combine and yeah what a student wants to know as well as what they need to know.
